A temperature lab usually needs three instruments that rarely talk to each other: a reference thermometer, a data acquisition system for multiple probes, and a precision multimeter. The Additel 286 combines all three. Its two precision channels measure SPRTs with 1 ppm resistance ratio accuracy on channel 1, and the 8 1/2-digit multimeter handles DC voltage, current, and resistance.

Add scanner modules and the 286 reads up to 82 channels at up to 10 channels per second: each temperature module takes 10 RTDs, PRTs, or thermistors and 20 thermocouples, and the process module measures and powers transmitters and switches. Preinstalled drivers control Additel and other manufacturers’ heat sources, and the probe calibration app runs multiple set points, collects data, and generates calibration coefficients on the instrument itself. Plug an ADT280-RS 25 Ω or 100 Ω resistance standard into channel 2 for improved ratio performance on SPRTs and high end PRTs.
