In custody transfer, measurement is money. About the event

ASGMT is the largest gas measurement school in the United States and has run annually since 1966. It combines more than 115 lecture classes and 48 hands-on sessions across seven subject areas, from fundamental measurement and gas quality to transmission, distribution, and office procedures, with continuing education credits offered through Texas A&M Kingsville.

This year brings two changes worth noting. After 25 years at its previous venue, the school moves to The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in The Woodlands, Texas, with 179 exhibitor booths and, for the first time, dedicated outdoor space for trailers and large equipment. ASGMT has also added a new track on IT and OT Measurement and Control Integrity, reflecting how much of measurement integrity now depends on digital integration.

Why it matters for measurement teams

Gas measurement accuracy is a chain, and calibration is where the chain is verified. Pressure transmitters drift. Gauges lose accuracy after exposure to process conditions. A measurement system that was correct at commissioning is only correct today if someone has proven it, with a reference that is itself traceable.
