An indirect connected DC energy meter reads current from an external shunt, so its current input sees only a small voltage. Verifying it means reproducing that millivolt-level signal precisely while the voltage circuit runs at full system voltage.

The TD1570 does exactly that: a four-wire small-signal source from 10 μV to 4.4 V stands in for the shunt, while the DC voltage source supplies up to 1550 V with the option. Meters snap into press-fit positions, so wiring takes a pull of the handle rather than a screwdriver, and up to 16 meters run in one batch. Each position has an auxiliary supply, and the GPS-referenced clock module checks daily timing error.
