Many vacuum processes never leave the rough vacuum range, yet they still suffer from gauges that change their reading with the gas. Switch from air to argon or a process mixture and a heat conduction gauge needs correction factors, which is where errors creep in. The Thyracont VSC43USB avoids that problem: its Piezo resistive sensor measures pressure directly, independent of gas type.
The sensor is a chemical resistant Al2O3 ceramic with FKM sealing. It reads absolute pressure from 2000 to 1 mbar, with 0.1% of full scale accuracy from 1200 to 1 mbar, and relative pressure from -1060 to +1200 mbar, because the transducer also measures ambient pressure. One device covers vacuum and light overpressure checks. The DN16 ISO-KF flange with G1/4 female thread fits standard small flange ports, and the transducer tolerates up to 4 bar absolute overload.
Over the lockable USB-C connection, the VSC43USB sends its data to a PC, tablet, or smartphone, where the VacuGraph software plots and logs the measurement, or to the Thyracont VD800 read-out for portable work. Zero and atmosphere adjustment are done digitally. When the process goes below 1 mbar, the VSR53USB adds a Pirani sensor and reaches 5e-5 mbar.
AV-TEK Consulting supplies the VSC43USB in North America and helps you match the transducer, read-out, and software to your process. Browse all USB vacuum transducers or the full Thyracont range.
