Most vacuum jobs need more than one measurement range, and swapping gauges to follow the pressure down is where errors creep in. The Thyracont VD850 puts a Piezo and a Pirani sensor in one meter, so a single instrument reads from rough vacuum all the way into fine vacuum.
The Piezo element measures independent of gas type in the rough range, and the Pirani element extends the range down to 5e-5 mbar. Because the Pirani reading depends on gas type, the VD850 lets you set a gas type correction factor for accurate fine vacuum work. It reads absolute pressure from 1200 to 5e-5 mbar and relative pressure to +340 mbar, connects through a DN16 ISO-KF flange, and tolerates up to 10 bar absolute overload.
The USB-C interface handles data transfer and battery charging, the data logger records at sampling rates from 20 ms to 60 s, and the graphic display keeps the reading clear in the field. When a sensor reaches end of life, a calibrated plug and play exchange head lets a technician swap it on site instead of returning the whole meter. For wireless data transfer, select the VD850BT version with Bluetooth LE, which sends readings to the VacuGraph app. For rough vacuum only, the VD810 offers a gas independent Piezo sensor from 2000 to 1 mbar.
The VD850 is available through AV-TEK Consulting in North America, with application support to match the meter and range to your process. Explore the full Thyracont range.
