The AEMC MR417 is built for the bench scope and waveform work that a banana-plug probe is not. It is a two-range Hall effect probe measuring both AC and DC current, with a 6.5 ft (2 m) coaxial lead and an insulated BNC connector for direct connection to an oscilloscope or other frequency-sensitive instrument. The 10 mV/A range resolves up to 40 Aac and 60 Adc, and the 1 mV/A range reaches 400 Aac and 600 Adc.
Because it measures DC as well as AC and follows DC to 30 kHz (-3 dB, depending on current value), the MR417 lets you capture current waveforms, inrush, and transients on a scope without a separate shunt. It has automatic DC zero reset, internal temperature compensation, LEDs for low battery and overload, and runs on a 9 V battery (about 50 hours typical) or a 5 V micro-USB source.
Use it for power electronics development, drive and switching analysis, and any waveform capture where you need current on a scope. The MR417 replaces the discontinued Model MR461.
