The AEMC MR415 is a Hall effect current probe that measures both AC and DC current, which a transformer-type probe cannot do. Clamp it around a conductor or bus bar and it outputs 1 mV per amp to a DMM, data logger, or power analyzer, covering 0.5 to 400 Aac and up to 600 Adc in a single range. Its bandwidth runs from DC to 30 kHz (-3 dB, depending on current value), so it follows DC levels and AC content alike.
Practical details make it field-ready: an automatic DC zero on both ranges, internal temperature compensation for stable readings, a double-insulated 5 ft lead with 4 mm safety banana plugs, and power from a 9 V battery (about 50 hours typical) or a 5 V micro-USB source. Green and red LEDs flag low battery and overload.
The MR415 suits DC and AC current measurement in variable speed drives, DC power and charging systems, battery and solar circuits, and general power logging where both signal types appear. It replaces the discontinued Model MR410, so existing setups carry over.
