The AEMC 6683 pairs a transmitter (6683E) and a receiver (6683R) to answer a question every electrical and facility team faces: which cable is this, where does it go, and is it live. Inject the transmitter's digitally coded 125 kHz signal onto a conductor and follow it with the receiver to trace cables and pipes through walls, floors, and ceilings, then verify the run before you cut, move, or add equipment.
Safety is built in. If voltage is present, the transmitter warns of the danger and shows its value, and the receiver adds non-contact voltage detection from 12 to 1000 VAC. The coded signal avoids interference, transmitter power adjusts across three levels, and up to seven transmitters can be used at once in complex sites. The receiver has a backlit display, a built-in light, a silent mode, and seven sensitivity levels, and can locate a live conductor on its own.
In data centers it traces power and communication lines in dense racks and trays. For contractors and facility teams it matches breakers to outlets and finds hidden routes and cable damage. For plumbing and underfloor heating it locates metal pipes in walls or concrete.
