The AEMC 6536 answers a specific need: insulation resistance testing at low, precisely controlled voltages. You set the test voltage anywhere from 10 to 100V in 1V steps, then read insulation resistance up to 20 GΩ. That fine control makes it the tool for ESD flooring and surface checks, aerospace and defense assemblies, and any circuit where a standard 250V or 500V megohmmeter would be too aggressive.

It is more than an insulation tester. A True RMS AC/DC voltmeter reads to 700V, continuity runs at 20 mA or 200 mA with test lead resistance compensation, and an ohmmeter covers 1Ω to 1000 kΩ. A live circuit indicator inhibits the test if terminal voltage exceeds 25V, and auto discharge brings the circuit down safely after each insulation test.
