The AEMC 6417 is the connected version of AEMC's clamp-on ground tester. Clamp it around a grounding electrode or conductor and it measures resistance to ground on multi-grounded systems, without disconnecting or de-energizing, so you verify the ground and the quality of its connections and bonds while the system stays in service. You can also measure resistance and continuity of grounding loops around pads and buildings.
Like the 6416, it measures ground resistance by auto-ranging from 0.010 to 1500 ohms, reads leakage current from 0.200 mA to 39.99 A, measures loop inductance, and calculates contact (touch) voltage. A ground voltage indication and a buzzer warn of dangerous conditions, and three separate alarms (ohms, volts, amps) give quick pass or fail checks. The 6417 adds what a documented grounding program needs: Bluetooth (Class 2, up to 30 ft) to a PC or an Android app, included DataView software for data retrieval, real-time display, analysis, report generation and configuration, and storage of up to 2000 time-stamped measurements.
Rated 600 V CAT IV with a rugged Lexan head and body, it suits utilities, substations, and industrial maintenance.
