Safety: IEC 61010-1, EN 61010-2-30, EN 61010-2-32, Pollution Degree 2, 600 V CAT IV; EMC EN 61326-1
The AEMC 6416 answers a simple field question without the setup a fall-of-potential test requires: what is the resistance of this ground, and is it safe. Clamp the tester around a grounding electrode or conductor and it measures the resistance to ground on multi-grounded systems, so you keep the ground bonded and energized while you test. Because you are measuring an intact ground, you also verify the quality of the connections and bonds, and you can check resistance and continuity of grounding loops around pads and buildings.
The 6416 measures ground resistance by auto-ranging from 0.010 to 1500 ohms, reads leakage current from 0.200 mA to 39.99 A, measures loop inductance, and calculates contact (touch) voltage. A ground voltage indication warns of possible unsafe conditions, and a noise icon and buzzer flag dangerous voltage and current. Three separate alarms (ohms, volts, amps) with an adjustable set point give you quick pass or fail checks, and up to 300 readings store with a time stamp on the bright OLED display.
Rated 600 V CAT IV with a rugged Lexan head and body, it is built for substations, utilities, and industrial sites.
