The ADT878-1210 extends the 878 family to thermocouple work, with temperature control from 100°C to 1210°C. It uses multi-zone temperature control and metallic interchangeable inserts, and can be ordered with the Process Calibrator (PC) option for on-board TC measurement and documentation.
A dry well is only as good as the temperature it delivers to the sensor under test. Stability, axial and radial uniformity, and loading effect decide how much of the uncertainty budget the heat source consumes before the reference probe is even read. The Additel 878 is built to keep that share small, with dual-zone control and specifications that reach ±0.005°C stability and ±0.01°C radial uniformity on the 878-160.
Three models cover the range from -40°C to 700°C. The 878-160 works from -40°C to 160°C and, with the optional ADT878-TPW-KIT, realizes and maintains a triple point of water cell automatically. The 878-425 reaches 425°C, and the 878-700 adds a built-in PRT annealing feature. Set point control can follow the external reference PRT, and a self-calibration routine recalibrates the internal control sensor against that reference.
The Process Calibrator (PC) option turns the dry well into a documenting calibrator: a reference PRT input, two channels for RTDs, thermocouples, mA, voltage, and switches, and a full HART communicator to read, configure, and calibrate transmitters. For liquid immersion work, see the Additel 835 calibration bath; for field dry block work, the Additel 875; for laboratory thermocouple calibration up to 1200°C, the Additel 850.
